Explore all year long

Discover over 200 ornaments hidden throughout Willamette National Forest

An ornament hangs from a tree for the 2019 willamette wilderness ornament hunt.

We are encouraging locals and travelers alike to connect with public lands and increase outdoor recreation activities by offering a holiday ornament contest from November 29, 2019, until January 1, 2020. In addition to winning a locally crafted hand-blown ornament, those who discover an ornament can register to win to one of three grand prizes that includes dinner, an activity and an overnight stay in the Willamette Valley.

Remember while you are out exploring use hashtags #FindYourOrnament and #FindYourTrail as you explore trails and other areas of local National Forest. And leave only footprints, take only pictures and memories and only one Willamette Valley ornament from your adventures on the Willamette National Forest

With so many ways to explore the Willamette National Forest this season we want to remind you to always be safe and responsible. If you pack it in, please pack it out. Know before you go by reading these guidelines to Fire Prevention and Leave No Trace.  Don’t forget to share your adventures with us!
