Your Guide to Farm Loops and Food Trails Around the Willamette Valley

By Rebecca Barnhart

The Willamette Valley has a rich agricultural tradition—where farmers grow dozens of crops, chefs find creative ways to use those in appetizing dishes, and markets share that bounty with shoppers from around the world. In recent years, that tradition has inspired the creation of three Willamette Valley food trails and four Willamette Valley farm loops across the region.

But what are food trails and farm loops? Basically, they're self-guided tours—with up to 50 farms, markets, eateries, breweries, or wineries scattered around smaller regions within the Willamette Valley. You can visit as many as you'd like and take as much time as you have—whether you can only sneak in one stop or want to spend a whole weekend digging into the roots of the Willamette Valley's home-grown goods.

In all, seven farm loops and food trails cover every corner of the Willamette Valley, and we're excited to introduce you to each below; learn more about what you'll find in each area, how much time to give yourself, and what you'll encounter along the way. Bon appétit!
