Sports Happen Here

Whether you are tracing the roots of Track Town USA, here for an epic annual event, or traveling for a tournament we've got all your sports resources covered. The Willamette Valley, home of Hayward Field, the hallowed ground for track and field athletes, the famous Ducks and Beavs, and some of the world's finest mountain biking trails in the world, is also a hearty host of more than 500 sporting events each year.

The Willamette Valley offers so many ways to enjoy sports, from cycling to marathons to golf. Soak in some of our greatest events during your trip. After your big event stay, play and explore the bounty of Oregon’s food, wine and beer scenes.

The Eugene Marathon April 27-28, 2024 is the Pacific Northwest’s largest marathon and takes place each spring on the last Sunday of April. The marathon and half marathon courses traverse through the communities of Eugene and Springfield, alongside the Willamette River, and on the same roads that the world’s best runners have competed on for over 50 years — most recently at the World Athletics Championships Oregon22.

The popular event is sold out but go join the excitement and cheer all the runners on.

With two top Universities less than an hour apart on Interstate-5 that offer a multitude of events and consistently contend in March Madness, the University of Oregon Ducks and Oregon State University Beavers basketball games are major sporting events.
